A Ride to Who-Knows-Where

Have you ever had a dream so strange, yet oddly powerful, it made you laugh out loud the moment you woke up? That’s exactly what happened to me. I shared it with my sister right away—but now, I want to share it with you.

Because sometimes, even our dreams have something to teach us.

In my dream, I saw my sister Vicky. She was applying for a job—but it wasn’t just any ordinary application. She had a suitcase in hand, her child by her side, and the determined look of someone ready for a major life change. I decided to come along—not for the job, but to help look after her child as she pursued this new opportunity.

We were about to hop into a taxi. I got in first and sat in the backseat. But before Vicky could get in… the driver hit the gas!

I turned around and realized she was left behind—just standing there like she’d been struck by lightning. I burst into laughter (even in the dream!) and yelled at the driver,
"Wait! My sister isn’t in yet!"

The taxi circled back. She got in—with her luggage—and this time, she sat in the front passenger seat. I stayed in the back, watching it all unfold. I still didn’t know where she was headed, but she was clearly determined.

Then she showed me something strange: a key with a blue tag, and on it was written,
“Accounting Wine Vineyard.”

I thought to myself, “Ah, so that’s where she’s applying.” I didn’t say a word—I just smiled and kept the thought to myself.

Moments later, thunder and lightning struck in the real world, jolting me awake. I couldn’t stop laughing. It all felt so real—and so random!

What the Dream Taught Me

Sure, it was funny. But dreams have a way of dropping messages in the middle of nonsense. Here’s what this one whispered to me:

  • Be prepared. Vicky had her bags, her kid, her energy—all packed and ready for wherever life was taking her.

  • Sometimes you get left behind. And it’s okay. What matters is catching up.

  • You need your key. Whether it’s literally a key to a wine vineyard or a metaphor for your passion, you need something that reminds you of where you're going.

Maybe I needed that laugh. Or maybe the universe just wanted to remind me that even in chaos, we’re still dreaming, still hoping, still moving.

So, Vicky... Why ARE You Applying for That Job?

Because there’s always a vineyard out there with your name on it.
Or a seat in a taxi, waiting to take you somewhere new.
You just need to bring your key—and a little sense of humor.

Thanks for reading,
Vee
